Today I finally beat story in MGS V: The Phantom Pain. I'm a huge fan of MGS series, I've had high expectations about this game and until the very end of game I was completely in for 10/10 score. But after the end of first chapter (which is second chapter in fact because prologue is chapter 0) whole story started to falling down. Whole second chapter is a huge mess of a few missions with great story value but it all ends on really strange ending, ruining completely everything about story of The Phantom Pain.
HEAVY SPOILERS AHEAD

I will start from beggining. Some of missions in Chapter 1 was odd, there was a bunch of missions that I completed on S-Ranking in 7 minutes having no idea what to do in these missions. And after 31 missions it all kinda ends and all missions that are next are "postgame content" according to IGN, which is odd, because the best parts of story are happening here, in chapter 2, where are four story missions, a bunch of recycled missions with higher difficulty and game is also forcing you to play a few side-ops, even that side-ops that aren't yellow labeled. Just a typical Side-Ops that are still repeating over and over. As I was closing to end, I was feeling that something is wrong. From start, it was amazing ride, with probably the best game prologue I have ever played and It all ends on an ending which was very schocking but that edning leaves more questions then answers. There is a huge plot hole. Literally. What happened to Eli when he stoled Sahelantropus, how you can forget to include this important stuff in the game. And most important question - What happened to real Big Boss after he left Cyprus on motorcycle? If you've pre-ordered collectors edition of Phantom Pain (if my info is right) you've got a disc where is a video of Mission 51 which was cut out of game and where you can see what happened to Eli and Venom Snake after Eli stole Sahelanthropus. It is on YouTube, check it out!
It is very important part of story. But my huge complain is about Big Boss. I though I'm playing as legendary Big Boss, and not some random medic who got almost killed in Ground Zeroes. I want to know how Big Boss became an evil as he is seen in first Metal Gear. And during mission 43, I thought it is THAT moment where he is becoming evil. But Kojima said a huge NOPE and we saw Outer Heaven Uprising where Venom Snake got killed by Solid Snake. And that is not even here. Venom Snake just got informed by Big Boss that he is just a random medic from helicopter during Uprising. And my feeling about it are that Big Boss was real bad guy and Venom Snake was just victim of Big Boss'es effort to build Outer Heaven. It would be better if Venom Snake was just another clone but this really sucks, that we are playing as a guy who was at bad time on a bad spot.

Worst thing about that is that gameplay is absolutely amazing but that strange ending sucks so hard for me that now I like more Venom Snake and I feel sorry for him that he was killed by Solid Snake because real Big Boss wanted to ged rid of doppleganger. What can help to properly end story? Well, bring us an DLC with that end game missions that were cut off, I wouldn't mind to pay for DLC because I have already got worth all my 60 Euro buy, and that also includes free copy of Ground Zeroes. Metal Gear Online is coming probably in January 2016 so I'm also waiting for that. Overall game is 10/10 stuff, for new players to franchise is even story great but for us, hardcore fans is story kinda dissapointing. Well, story is great, but that ending sucks, because half of ending isn't really there.

I have strong feeling that all this is because Kojima and Konami had bad relationship later in game development, that could cause that end game content simply sucks because Kojima wasn't motivated enough to finish the game properly. And Konami probably saved some material for DLC's so they could make even more money on this franchise. Future of another Metal Gear games is unclear but I hope that Konami will somehow figure it how they can make another game, hopefully with real Big Boss and with the same gameplay quality as The Phantom Pain. For me, this is still probably the best game of the year, 10/10 but at the end I just didn't like that game was presenting to me whole time fake Big Boss, so when I bond with that character I got slap in the face, and with Hideo Kojima name printed everywhere in game, I have been told that it is all fake.
