My excitement about Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is still at very high level. I have already written three articles about it and it is definitely on my top of 10 most anticipated games for 2015. In this article I will be writing about what we want and expect in new Deus Ex title. Main thing in Deus Ex is strong story – it is essential part of franchise. According to official informations, we will be following Adam Jensen dealing with bad guys in Europe, mainly in Prague. Who will be bad guys? Hard to guess. Eidos Montreal already sad that you won't be able to upload save from Human Revolution, that mean that your choices in Human Revolution doesn't matter. I don't think this is bad, we all know that these choices have almost no impact because we have first Deus Ex set in 2050 where we still have augmented people, terrorists, Iluminati and so on.
But hey, Prague – Eidos Montreal couldn't found better place for great game (maybe London), but anyway, Prague is great city, with tons of oportunities to create amazing open-world map. I hope that now when Mankind Divided have a bigger budget than Human Revolution we will see some pretty cool open world. Yes, open-world in Human Revolution was good but it felt kinda odd. I want something more dynamic, cool open-world, where NPCs are talking with each other, walking, doing some sort of stuff. It would be definitely cool to see begining of game back in Detroit, then move to Europe, to Prague. I'm really looking forward how developers will handle to set Prague in cyberpunk setting. Prague is very old city, with many cca. 500 years old buildings. I think that is good that they moved Mankind Divided to Europe. It will bring something fresh to open-world. Detroit, Hengsha, Montreal and Singapore are technically very young cities so it was easy to set them into cyberpunk. But Prague has a lot of sights that are very old – and now we will see them in futuristic settings. We can already see in trailer Prage Castle which look really interesting in game. I hope that at some point game will explain what happened to old Prague Castle. Central Prague is full of small buildings, alleys and streets, that means a lot of opurtunities to create dark alleys full of people from Prague underground. I'm glad that my favorite franchise will take place in city that I know very well.

Up - Prague Castle now, Down - Prague Castle in trailer

Side-quests were good in Human Revolution, in Mankind Divided they should stay connected with story at some points and they should had a counseqences that they will shown at some point of game, or main storyline of game. Side-quests should definitely stay at some points same as in Human Revolution just with some addition. I'm really hoping that they will include some more action quests, like chasing somebody or seeing something really cool like it was during first Hengsha visit in Human Revolution. I've also red some fans discussions about vehicles in game. Honestly, I don't know. Sure, some pretty cool car chase sequence would be cool but maybe as an cutscene.

Combat was one of the greatest things in Human Revolution, based on stealth and cover mechanics, with various ways to complete level. Takedowns were good but sometimes during double takedowns there was a bug where both enemies instantly died and Adam was just hitting air. I hope that we don't see this bugs in Mankind Divided, there should be also maybe little bit smarter AI. There was some issues in Human Revolution but nothing major.

I've alredy said that would be cool to see car chase as cutscene. But question is: should cutscenes be rendered in game engine or they should be pre-rendered as it was in Human Revolution? It dependes on capabilites of game engine. If game engine can handle all that motion tracking then we don't need pre-rendered cutscenes. Also I expect that cutscenes will be able to pause, as well as dialogs. Cutscenes and also dialogs need good face motion tracking because lip-syncing in Human Revolution was really bad. Also voice-acting can be better than Human Revolution. That bring us graphical side of game. We have seen some screenshots of Mankind Divided. If this is really how game will be look, then it is amazing. Human Revolution graphics were at some points good and bad. Human Revolution have some optimalization issues and some really weird textures like sky or a few level backgrounds. I hope that now when we are in 2015, have new powerfull consoles available, bigger budget, game will look better. Human Revolution needed more moments like first Hengsha arrival where epic soundtrack is playing and you seeing amazing view, in amazing graphics at city and only word that you say is just: epic.

Weapons variety in Human Revolution was good. My best friend – tranquilizer rifle was really cool weapon. I was also using 10mm pistol with silencer and a tons of upgrades. Also classic Combat Rifle was pretty good weapon. I believe that they will just transfer weapons from Human Revolution to Mankind Divided. But I hope we will see something new, new models of weapons, I think that crossbow need a new model because model in Human Revolution looks very odd. Maybe there should be more variety in types – like two types of combat rifles or sniper rifles. And as always, every weapon should be modifyable.

I think that is all I can say about Mankind Divided at least for now. I have very hight expectations about that game. Just in a cube – what I want is that Mankind Divided should be improved Human Revolution, with better open-world, cutscenes, voice-acting and Prague. Eidos Montreal made me very happy when I've heard for first time that game will take place in my city. So, for Eidos Montreal – I'm looking forward to Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, my PS4 is also very excited. And for readers, see ya next time.
