Are GTA Online Heists broken?

Yes and no. They have some bad design decisions but if you can play them (especially with friends) you will be enjoying them. So, from start, it has been a while since release of Heist to GTA Online. It has been a major almost 5GB update and everybody was overhyped. The first heist: Flecca job works as a tutorial and it only needs only two players. In next heists, other players are major problem of Heists. Notice that these problems are only if you dont have three friend who want to play with you.

One Heist consist of a number of Heists setups, how it was in singleplayer campaign. You need to done setups and then you can move to actual Heist which is called Heist Finale. Idea is good but execution in game is bad. Also good to say that experiences with that is from PS4, I don't know if comunity on both Xbox'es or PS3 is better. Every player must do setups if he want to do Heist Finale. If you do all Setup or Heists in game session which is hosted by somebody else, you still need to do them in sessions hosted by you for your personal progress.

I've already done these two uncompleted setup's but for somebody else, now I need to do them

You need to host a game session and wait for players to join and do setup if you want to progress in Heists. Problem is, nobody want to do setups for another player, everybody is just hosting their sessions and waiting because they want progress. Waiting can be hour long, for example: I played Heartstone on my tablet during waiting for players. Only thing that player get for helping others with setups is 19 000 dolars. In Heists Finale's it depend on Heist but these money are great and also more players want to do Heists FInale's instead of setups

I felt like I'm more playing Heartstone on my tablet than GTA V on PS4.

Another problem is that if somebody leaves the session everybody is kicked out, session ends and you need to wait all over again for another three player. Also they are some connection issues where I was kicked for unkown reason from my own session, servers didn't worked on days of release of Heists, at leats on PS4. And main problem with whole GTA 5 are loading times, during connecting to sessions, reconnecting and so on, there are incredible long loading times.

When you are playing with friends

If you have three friends willing to play with you, then you don't need to wait for players but there are still problems with progress. If all four of players (you and three other friend) want's to have all Heists complete, that mean that everybody must play every Heist four times, because if you complete Heist only hosting player will get succes and then he can progress further in Heists, other players must host their own sessions. And there is problem with loading times and sometimes with connection.

Solutions

There is a lot solutions. For example, change that stupid progres for hosting player, if four of players done heist, then everybody beat it, not just hosting player. Or at least, create lobbys where you can do something while waiting for players, like, let us play GTA while we are in lobby and waiting for another three players.

In Assassin's Creed Unity these lobbys works very well, I can actually play a game while I'm waiting for players.

Loading times are problem of a game, GTA V is huge open world game, loading times are something that probably can't be fixed in this case. Connection problems are mainly caused because loading times, where it says that connection timed out. There would be also good some better players search engine, rather than just inviting players from one server.

Now it may look like I hate GTA Online. I like it, I also love Heists, and that is main reason why I wrote this article. It is so shame that GTA Online Heists have some bad design decisions. Still, GTA V is 10/10 game, every money I spend on GTA 5 was totally woth it.
